This lecture provides an introduction to systems theory and control. Basic aspects such as modeling of dynamic systems, systems analysis, and the design of feedback systems are discussed. The lecture covers state space modeling, stability analysis, and controller synthesis methods for the class of finite-dimensional, deterministic, continuous-time, linear time-invariant systems. The main focus is on classical frequency domain analysis and synthesis methods but also basic time domain analysis methods are introduced. All controller synthesis methods are frequency domain methods. State space system analysis and control synthesis concepts are part of the course Systems Theory II.
Course prerequisites: basic knowledge about signals and systems (Lecture Signale und Systeme).
More detailed information on the course may be found on RWTHonline.
